LASER TREATMENTS
Laser Hair Removal
The treatment is quick and easy! It is very safe, because the technician will adjust the treatment for every skin type. Pulsed-light systems work by emitting a pulse of intense lamp-light into the hair follicle. The heat loosens the hair and disables new hair growth. You do not need to let your hair grow out before you are treated. With pulsed light treatments, you can remain virtually hair free all the time! Hair re-growth depends on each how fast each person’s hair grows. You may return for more treatments as early as six weeks the last treatment.
Traditional waxing and threading treatments, which essentially rip the hair from the skin, can be quite painful. Most people, however, find Palomar Pulsed Light treatments to be significantly more comfortable. In addition, since the pulses of light penetrate the skin, you do not need to let your hair grow out before you are treated. Will pulsed light treatments, you can remain virtually hair free all the time!
What body areas can I get treated?
Any area, except around the eyes. The underarms, legs, back bikini line, face, neck etc can all be treated… fast! A perfect back!
What are the treatment sessions like?
Quick and easy! After your initial preparation, our qualified technician will move a hand piece over your skin. The hand piece emits a light that disables the hair follicles. Most people perceive this light as a gentle “snapping” sensation. Once this is completed, the esthetician will wipe away any loose hair from your skin, and you’re ready to go!
What should most people expect after treatment?
Most people experience some mild redness and tenderness in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will be mild and temporary. Your esthetician will explain other, less likely side effects to you.
Leg Vein Treatments
Many people live with visible leg veins, which make them feel embarrassed to wear shorts, skirts, and swimsuits. Our non-invasive laser treatment causes unsightly vessels to fade from view in a few treatments or less.
How does Palomar laser leg vein treatment work?
Lasers deliver concentrated light in a specific wavelength of the spectrum. Each wavelength is absorbed by a different target, such as pigment, blood or water. The Palomar Lux1064 handpiece delivers light pulses in the 1064 nm wavelength, which is ideal for targeting leg veins. The light pulses heat the blood within the leg vein. The head of the blood affects the vessel lining, which causes the vessel to constrict and eventually fade from view.
What are Palomar treatment sessions like?
Your qualified treatment provider will move the handpiece over your skin , following the vein, pulsing it all the while. Each pulse will send a beam of light through your skin. A flashing light, an audible tone, and a mild sensation on the skin will tell you when the handpiece is being pulsed.
Are these treatments safe? Are they painful?
We will go over the risks and benefits of treatment with you. Palomar leg vein treatments are skin-safe and comfortable. The handpiece delivers its energy in one smooth, gentle pulse, to protect the skin from a sharp rise in temperature.
In addition, a chilled water supply runs through the handpiece, down to its tip. Since the handpiece tip is in contact with the skin during treatment, your skin is continually cooled, so that you feel little heat from the laser pulses.
What should I expect after treatment?
Immediately after treatment you will see any of these three possible outcomes:
- The vessel will disappear
- The vessel will darken
- The vessel will shrink
The surrounding skin may turn pink and be slightly swollen for up to 24 hours. Often more than one treatment is necessary to achieve full clearance of leg veins.
Laser Skin Treatments
We all want clear skin, but nature has a way of sabotaging us with frustrating imperfections. Luckily, photofacial technology (which uses lasers and pulsed light to remove skin imperfections) has been growing in leaps and bounds, culminating in the Palomar RejuveluxTM Process.
The RejuveLux Process uses pulsed light to treat the following problems:
- Pigment Lesions (Sunspots or Age Spots) occur in response to sun-induced skin injury and appear as dark brown circles or diffuse browning of the skin.
- Vascular Lesions are superficial blue, red or purple veins under the skin’s surface. Some common types include Rosacea (facial inflammation) and Spider Veins (tiny vessels that appear near the surface of the face).
What body areas can I get treated?
Any area, except directly around the eyes. The face, neck, chest, arms, hands, legs, etc. can all be treated quickly and safely.
What are the RejuveLux treatment sessions like?
Quick and easy! After your initial preparation, our qualified esthetician will move the Palomar pulsed light hand piece over your skin. The hand piece emits a light that breaks up the pigments in the lesions. Most people perceive the light as a gentle “snapping” sensation, which causes little to no discomfort.
What should I expect after treatment?
- Pigmented lesions will darken slightly after treatment, and then fade away after about 10-14 days.
- Vessels (visible veins) generally undergo immediate graying or blanching and the surrounding area may redden. The vessels then fade after about 10-14 days.
- Most people experience some mild temporary redness and swelling, similar to a sunburn, in the treated area shortly after treatment. This does not interfere with normal activities and usually subsides within a day. In some cases, the redness may last longer, but will still be mild and temporary. We will explain any other less likely side effects to you.
What is the difference between RejuveLux pulsed light and laser treatments?
